Our story
JET was founded on the belief that investing in individuals is what will make this industry great. That’s what our founder, David Baldwin, achieved when JET was born. He took determined bilingual individuals practicing in their technical fields under his wing and personally trained them up to become independently competent and excellent professional technical translators, that would go on to be proud stalwarts in the industry. JET continues this vision now that David has retired. We believe in creating the linguistic team that the world needs, not just by recruiting it, but by personally creating and curating it through long-term investment in individuals and personalized training. People matter most, and we are proud to say that our contribution to the industry of both translation and IP is excellent people who have been trained to provide greatness, generously share their knowledge, and extend their skills to future generations. Only JET can invest in the industry in this way while maintaining top-notch translation quality from their senior team.
When I started out at JET as Quality Manager in 2018, I took on the task of re-vamping our quality infrastructure, re-training our team on the core techniques of translation that enable superior quality, and developing the tools we needed to succeed. I’m passionate about the value that a technically bilingual individual can bring to all kinds of sectors, and I’m proud of how hard my team works to go above and beyond.
